Honoring Peace Award for Natalia Rebollo in Mexico

Natalia Rebollo premio México award honoring peace

On February 19, the Mexican Chamber of Deputies hosted the “Honoring Peace” ceremony, an event dedicated to recognizing individuals whose careers have made a significant contribution to justice, the common good, and the construction of a culture of peace.

In this context, Natalia Rebollo, a member of the ICEERS team, received recognition for her sustained work in favor of justice and a culture of peace. The official invitation emphasized the importance of “paying tribute to the silent work of those who, with commitment, sensitivity, and humanity, weave a culture of peace day by day.”

The event took place in the Aurora Jiménez de Palacios Auditorium, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Deputies, and brought together institutional representatives, social organizations, and individuals committed to social transformation from different fields.

A career linked to justice and rights

Throughout her professional career, Natalia has promoted initiatives aimed at promoting rights, mediation, building dialogue, and creating more humane frameworks for addressing complex social conflicts. This recognition highlights not only an individual career, but also a way of understanding social and political work: based on listening, collective responsibility, and ethical commitment.

At ICEERS, we celebrate this recognition, which is deeply aligned with our mission: to contribute to fairer, more informed, and respectful policies and practices surrounding traditional psychoactive plants and the communities associated with them.

A shared recognition

Jesús Alonso Olamendi accompanied Natalia at the ceremony, reflecting the collaborative nature of the work that underpins this recognition. His presence symbolizes the collective nature of peacebuilding processes: no achievement comes about in isolation, but rather through networking, collaboration, and community.

Honoring peace means sustaining, day by day, practices that promote justice, dignity, and dialogue. The fact that this recognition was awarded in a public institution also reinforces the importance of building bridges between civil society and institutions in order to move toward more humane and responsible frameworks.

ICEERS extends its congratulations to Natalia and Jesús, and we thank them for their constant commitment to a culture of peace that spans both the personal and professional spheres.
