Indigenous plant medicines are reaching more people in more places than ever before, but the risks are also increasing.

• Ongoing criminalization and legal uncertainty around sacred plant ceremonies.
• A growing number of people having challenging experiences without adequate support.
• Fragmented information, questionable practices, and lack of coherent frameworks for safety and reciprocity.

Since 2009 ICEERS has worked to address the challenges of the globalization of Indigenous plant medicines.

Until now, most of our work has been sustained by a small group of philanthropists and partner organizations.

In the current global context, that model is no longer enough.

If we want a future where these practices can be safe, ethical and rooted in respect the wider community needs to step in.

That’s why we are opening ICEERS Community Circles on a first pilot round, with limited, spots at reduced contribution.

Those who join now lock in their tier and get benefits of future cycles

When you sign up to the circles, you are making a donation, in the form of a membership. This membership comes with some benefits, but it remains a donation. Donations in Spain are VAT free.

We devised the circles as a way for people to support ICEERS mission, so we can keep the lights on at ICEERS, continue to offer our non-profit services to the community, such emergency legal and integration services free of charge.

At the same time members of the circles can access certain benefits not available to non members, for example:

• Priority access and large number of questions in our medical questions.
• Case orientation from ICEERS integration experts. 
• Non-emergency legal support from ICEERS lawyers.
• Exclusive newsletters.
• Limited edition merchandise.

It’s both a donation and a service. You support essential infrastructure and receive access to guidance, learning, and community.

We are launching with a pilot round, offering a limited number of spots at a reduced cost.

This is not about creating artificial urgency.

It is about acknowledging that the process to build strong, ethical structures around plant medicines has to start small and grow like seed.

ICEERS serves as a crossroads for various information flows associated with Indigenous plant medicines. The three members only Circle Newsletters act as a medium to disseminate this information.

We have taken some of these cases, anonymized them and sometimes grouped them together to use as stories. That way we can share with the community important harm reduction information, while protecting the privacy of the people who consult with us.

Why do we call them orientation calls?

Because they are built on the same the spirit that built our support service, El Faro (the lighthouse).

A lighthouse is a point of reference in the dark that helps navigators know their position, and from this orientation make informed decisions about the direction they will take.  

Our orientation calls work the same way, we can help people better understand where they are and what’s possible. Some things we cannot do:  we cannot do people’s sailing for them, we cannot support people all the way to their destinations, and we cannot be consultants or clinicians. We can, however, help people make better informed decisions on their next steps.

Legal Orientation Calls

Most people working with plants have very similar legal questions. Due to a lack of resources we directed people with non-urgent questions to written material, people had to do their own research. Only people in legal emergencies had access to our lawyers. Now circle members can have legal orientation calls with our lawyers.

One hour calls. 1 to 3 times a year. Included in circle 5 (steward) and up.

Case Orientation Calls

This is a completely new offering. Since launching the AyaSafety course we’ve had numerous requests for something resembling case supervision. Facilitators and integrators told us they would like to discuss certain difficult cases with someone experienced in integration. Now members of the integrator circle and up can have a case orientation call with El faro integration experts.

Calls are 45 minutes. 3, 6, or 9 calls a year. Included in circle 3 (integrator) and up.

Learning Circles

This is a completely new offering. Unlike the two others which are individual orientation calls, the Learning Circles are group calls where approximately once a month people of all levels of experience can participate in expert-led study groups on preparation, safety, and integration.

Orientation is not the same as legal advice, medical advice, therapeutic advice or clinical supervision. These processes are longer and more profound than we can offer. But we feel certain that after talking to our experts you will feel better oriented.

The Plant Medicine Test is a completely new offering in collaboration with Kykeon Analytics.

Now you can safely and privately identify and quantify the main active components in plant, mushroom, and other preparations. State of the art technology, using LC-MS (chromatography and mass spectrometry), NMR, and FTIR spectroscopy.

Included in circle 5 (steward) and up.
