Manica Balant is a researcher at the Institut Botànic de Barcelona (IBB-CSIC), within the EtnoBioFiC group (evolutionary biology, genome organization and plant uses), with a master’s in Ecology and Biodiversity and a PhD from the Universitat de Barcelona. Her work focuses on systematics, ethnobotany, conservation biology and reproductive biology, with particular attention to wild Cannabis populations and traditional uses of cannabis, developed within the WECANN project and the CANNUSE database.
