Jaime E. Cecílio Hallak is a full professor at the Department of Neurosciences and Behavior of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), and Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta. A psychiatrist with a postdoctoral degree from the University of Manchester, he works on neuroimaging and psychopharmacology, including schizophrenia, antipsychotics, temporal lobe epilepsy and the therapeutic potential of psychoactive plant derivatives. He co-authors many of the clinical studies on ayahuasca and cannabidiol featured on the ICEERS website.
