Catalonia is an autonomous region in Spain with a long history of civic organising and policy innovation, including around drug policy and harm reduction. Catalonia hosts ICEERS’s headquarters in Barcelona and has become a relevant territory for the European debate on psychoactive plants, harm reduction and collective access models such as cannabis associations. Its dense ecosystem of research institutions, civil society organizations and culturally diverse communities shapes much of the local work that ICEERS develops in education, scientific research and policy.
