Indigenous peoples

Indigenous peoples are the original holders of much of the traditional knowledge surrounding the plants and medicines at the heart of ICEERS’ work — ayahuasca, peyote, iboga, coca, sacred mushrooms and many others. Their territorial, cultural, spiritual and political rights are at the center of debates around globalization, biopiracy, drug control and access to health. ICEERS engages with Indigenous nations, organizations and leaders through collaboration, accompaniment and international advocacy. This page gathers content on Indigenous peoples and ICEERS’ work in this area.
