Medical doctor specializing in clinical pharmacology and professor of Pharmacology at the School of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He spent nearly thirty years as a researcher at the Human Pharmacology Unit of IMIM-Hospital del Mar, and from 2015 to 2025 led the Clinical Pharmacology Service at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona. Principal investigator on more than 140 research projects and author of over 600 publications, his work spans the human pharmacology of a wide range of psychoactive substances. In recent years he has focused on the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, with particular attention to the effects of Ayahuasca in the context of complicated grief.
